The Land Gate

The "Puerta de Tierra" is linked to the San Juan Bastion. It is the only entrance which is part of the original fortress. It is very important because it communicates the formerly called "Villa de San Francisco Campeche" to earth. The cannons, casemates, and storages were constructed in 1732, as well as the scarp that has a triangular form and is surrounded by a moat 4m wide and 3m deep.
