The Sea Gate

It is one of the 4 entrances to the city and the first to be built. It was demolished during the XIX century, hen reconstructed and even extended in 1802. For almost two centuries, it was the main gate for those using ships. Located between La Soledad and San Carlos Bastión, it had no moat, as it had to contain the dock. In 1893, the original door was demolished, and in 1953, it was reconstructed.
