Virtual Digital Wardrobe

The aim of the project is to propose a procedure for advanced digitization and presentation of textile objects and to verify this method using objects from the collection of the Prague City Museum. The results will include a prototype device for automated textile object scanning to create 3D models faithfully capturing the material, software for presentation at exhibitions and on the Internet, including virtual wearing of textile objects. The results are essential for documenting conditions of valuable textile collections of museums that suffer from physical manipulation and for presentation to researchers and visitors. In the Czech Rep., several museums have extensive textile collections, other large collections are abroad. The results will also be applicable for textile sales.
